About Us
Let’s Go Seymour Films is an independent production company based in Winnipeg, Manitoba. The company’s name emerged organically during the post-production of the Super 8 short This Clown Ate, Vol. I, where it first appeared in the credits as “A Let’s Go Seymour Films Production.” The name remained and eventually became the banner under which the company’s producing practice began to take shape.
The company’s work spans narrative, experimental, and analogue filmmaking, with a focus on projects rooted in personal storytelling, collaboration, and Indigenous leadership. In 2024, Stay Awhile was produced and directed by John Seymour through the Winnipeg Indigenous Filmmakers Collective’s Skodoodisden Project. The film screened in Winnipeg, at the Gimli International Film Festival (Gimli, MB), Red Nation International Film Festival (Los Angeles, CA), and Pocahontas Reframed Film Festival (Richmond, VA), among other festivals across Turtle Island, and is currently in non-exclusive distribution with the Winnipeg Film Group.
Let’s Go Seymour Films is led by producer, actor, and filmmaker John Seymour, a graduate of the National Screen Institute’s CBC New Indigenous Voices program. Recent production experience includes work as First Assistant Director on REZervations for Two, a 13-episode reality dating series for APTN, premiering in summer 2026. He is also the recipient of an Indigenous Screen Office Development Program grant supporting the development of Seymourville, an upcoming short film currently in development.
In addition to its own projects, it is currently producing the debut short film of Winnipeg-based filmmaker Kane Kirton. Operating in a full producer capacity, Let’s Go Seymour Films is overseeing the project from development through post-production, including funding strategy, budgeting, scheduling, and overall production planning. This collaboration reflects the company’s commitment to supporting emerging filmmakers through structured, hands-on producing support across all stages of production.
Let’s Go Seymour Films is committed to building sustainable production pathways and supporting filmmakers through careful development, collaboration, and long-term planning. The company values accountability, creative integrity, and production practices that allow projects to grow responsibly from concept to completion.
